Bono interview

I ran across a link to this interview with U2’s Bono over at the Mere Comments blog. It’s an excerpt from a book. Here’s a quote:

You see, at the center of all religions is the idea of Karma. You know, what you put out comes back to you: an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, or in physics—in physical laws—every action is met by an equal or an opposite one. It’s clear to me that Karma is at the very heart of the universe. I’m absolutely sure of it. And yet, along comes this idea called Grace to upend all that “as you reap, so you will sow” stuff. Grace defies reason and logic. Love interrupts, if you like, the consequences of your actions, which in my case is very good news indeed, because I’ve done a lot of stupid stuff.

Anyway, go read the whole thing. Very interesting.

Bono is a much better spokesman for Christianity (profanity and all) than Osteen et al.

I've got to read that book.

So is there no way to delete a comment? I misread part of the article.

What can I say, "I've done a lot of stupid stuff."

Wes, I just deleted your other comment. Although now I realize it makes your other comment look odd. Would you like for me to adjust it in any way?

Jeff, I agree. I'm sure I wouldn't agree with everything Bono says about Christianity. However, I was encouraged by the article.

Nah, no need to adjust it. I have done a lot of stupid stuff.

I really like the interview and would love to have seen the pope in Bono's sunglasses.

Thanks a lot for this post, Steven. I used a good bit of the interview this morning in SS in talking about modern messy saints (ref. Webb article) in relationship to the King David.

Thanks, bro.
