Paris, Texas

Paris_texas.jpg

I watched Wim Wenders’ movie Paris, Texas last night, and I have to say I think I might have a new favourite movie. So many cool things: the cinematography (there are beautiful night-sky colors and azure blue daytime skies), the color choices (pay particular attention to the color red throughout the movie and black at the very end), Ry Cooder’s sparse acoustic-slide soundtrack and dialogue that will draw you in. The pathos that this movie oozes is unbelievable. The pace is a little slow, but nowhere nearly as slow as one of Wenders’ other movies I’ve seen recently, Wings of Desire. Highly recommended for lovers of film.
